Dr Chris Gibson is an all-round naturalist, with a particular interest in plants and insects, and conservationist who retired after 31 years’ work with Natural England and its predecessors. He led wildlife tours around Europe for many years but has now largely retired from that due to ethical concerns around flying. He is now focussing upon lower-carbon UK trips and writing to help others enjoy the natural world around them: his latest book is British & Irish Wild Flowers and Plants – a Pocket Guide.
