Greenwings orchid guides Sean Cole and Mike Waller are working on a new book that covers the orchids of Britain and Ireland..
It is a photographic celebration of all the species currently recorded within the area, in a much larger format than “Britain’s Orchids”, and there will be updated information and maps. Rather than a field guide, it will be a beautiful photographic record of our orchids, both in close-up and in their surroundings, providing beautiful images that are also useful for reference.
It will be A4, printed on high quality paper, and have more than 320 pages.
This larger format will allow them to include some of their best work that was not suitable in a small format field guide, but that deserves to be shared on a more aesthetic level, at the same time as showcasing the beauty and variety of our orchids and their surroundings.
The book is being produced in collaboration with good friend Rainar Kurbel.
The provisional publication date is spring 2026, and the book is available for pre-order only directly from the authors at this stage.
Pre-order price will be £35, after publication £45. You will also receive your copy before publication date!
