Pau Lucio from Gandia (Valencia), has been interested in wildlife all his life. He is ornithologist, wildlife guide and professional bird ringer. He is also working as a University Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Valencia, Spain), where he teaches Zoology and Wildlife Management.

His research is a focus on studying the passerine community of the bird-rich Mediterranean wetlands, and he is also very interested in mammals, butterflies and dragonflies. He combines his work at the University with leading most of Greenwings trips in Spain. Pau also collaborates with the Spanish Butterfly Conservation Society (NGO Zerynthia) and has set up a number of different butterfly reserves; the first of all focuses on the stunning Two-tailed Pasha (Charaxes jasius).
